A 48-year-old man was arrested last night after he was found with a gun and matching rounds at a City hotel.
Acting on information received, police went to the CJ Hotel at Hinck Street, Lacytown, Georgetown, around 23:50hrs where they made contact with the suspect who was a guest in one of the rooms. They requested a search and while in the process of doing so, they found a Bryco 380 pistol and five matching rounds in a one-strap bag he had in his possession.
The man told police that he is not a licence firearm holder.
He was told of the offences committed, cautioned, arrested, and escorted to the Brickdam Police Station, where the firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed, and lodged. He was placed into custody as investigations continue.
