Police yesterday eradicated two ganja farms at DeVeldt and Gaetroy, Berbice River.
At DeVeldt, a farm of about 6000 plants ranging from three and five feet in height and about 600Ibs of dry cannabis along with one 12-gauge shotgun and one 12-gauge cartridge, were found.
In Gaeteroy, another field was discovered consisting of about 10,000 plants ranging from three and six feet in height and a nearby camp which contained about 100lbs of dried cannabis.
The estimated street value of the plants is $5,420,800 and the estimated street value for the dried cannabis is $21,000,000.
The cannabis sativa plants and camps were destroyed by fire and the firearm and ammunition have been lodged at the Central Police Station pending further investigation.
No arrest was made.
