Rishi Bharrat, the 60-year-old pandit who was beaten to death by a group of drunken men on August 28, was laid to rest yesterday.
Many residents gathered to pay their final respects at the funeral service.
The Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, and several top police ranks were also present to comfort the pandit’s grieving family.
