Tomar Jarvis, 17, of 61 Company Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, is now contemplating his next move after his home went up in flames last night between 20:00hrs and 21:00hrs.
Enquiries disclosed that Jarvis resided alone in the one-flat wooden building measuring 18 feet in length and 15 feet in width. The building is not supplied with electricity from Guyana Power and Light.
Guyana Standard understands that Jarvis lit a candle in his home and left for a nearby shop to purchase dinner.
On his return, he observed the building was engulfed in flames and raised an alarm.
The building was destroyed despite the Guyana Fire Service’s efforts. No one was injured.
