Two male labourers, ages 25 and 30, are now patients of the New Amsterdam Hospital nursing injuries they sustained from a scuffle last night around 19:45hrs at Ankerville, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.
Enquiries revealed that on the date and time mentioned the two victims were at a function when they got into an argument which ended in a scuffle.
The second victim (30-year-old) armed himself with a bottle and dealt the first victim several stabs about his body, after which the first victim armed himself with a cutlass and dealt the second victim a chop to his right hand.
They were both escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty who transferred them to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.
They are listed as stable but in serious conditions.
Investigations are ongoing.
