The life of a young businessman was cut short after he was stabbed to death by bandits who invaded their Deals on Electronics business late Friday afternoon at Strathspey, on the East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is 19-year-old Chris Persaud of Strasphey ECD.
According to Persaud’s father Devin Persaud, he was in a shop next door while Chris was in the store when the armed suspects invaded.
The elder Persaud further stated that the men managed to rob the deceased of an undisclosed amount of cash before they dealt him a stab to his neck, after which he collapsed.
The men then attempted to escape, but one was captured by neighbours and handed over to cops at the Vigilance Police Station.
Further, the young businessman later succumbed to his injury, while he was being transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Investigators are currently on the scene investigating.
