Safar Dillawar, 27, a hire car driver of Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice was chopped to his face during an argument with a cyclist last night in his village.
A relative of Dillawar told police that the 27-year-old was seated along a culvert in an access street located in Crabwood Creek, when the suspect, who was on a scooter, came and asked for a pass. The motorcyclist allegedly rode into the victim’s car door that was parked along the street.
An argument ensued and the suspect left, only to return with a cutlass, which he used to deliver a single chop to his victim’s face.
Dillawar was picked up by his brother and taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital, where he was treated and admitted a patient under observation in a stable condition.
The suspect was later arrested and taken to the Springlands Police Station. He was subsequently placed in custody as investigation continues.
