The body of Haniff Mohamed, 66, a pensioner of Montrose, East Coast Demerara, was discovered at the Montrose Seawall with suspected bee stings about his body.
Enquiries disclosed that between 09:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs on Sunday last, several residents suffered bee attacks around the Montrose area. It is suspected that Mohamed was a victim of those attacks.
Due to the attacks, the bee catcher was alerted to tend to the bees and on his arrival about 17:15hrs on Sunday, he discovered the man lying motionless on the ground.
He was picked up by villagers and taken to a city hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
