A five-year-old boy succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
The child, along with a 49-year-old Region Five woman are the latest fatalities, taking the death count to 994.
Guyana has also recorded 49 new cases, taking the number of infections since March 2020 to 37,874. There are 1,139 persons in home isolation, two in institutional quarantine and 18 in the Intensive Care Unit. So far, 35,651 persons have recovered.
