The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed that as of December 07, 2021, one more person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1009.
According to the Ministry, the Region 10 woman was unvaccinated. She passed away on November 28, 2021.
Guyana has also recorded 44 new cases of the virus, taking confirmed infections since March 2020 to 38, 261.
There are 16 persons in the Intensive Care Unit, 50 in institutional isolation, 867 in home isolation, and four in institutional quarantine.
So far, 36,319 persons have recovered.
