Two persons are in police custody following a drug bust yeaterday afternoon at a house in West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown.
Guyana Standard understands that police ranks from Headquarters and ‘A’ Division conducted an intelligence-led operation at 18:00 hrs at Lot 122 West Ruimveldt Housing scheme which led to the arrest of two males — a vendor of the said address and a taxi driver of Lot 1705 Dedication Place, South Ruimveldt.
A search was carried out at the premises which led to the discovery of nine bulky parcels, one small parcel and 114 packets of marijuana. The narcotic was weighed in the presence of the suspects which amount to 13.40 lbs.
The narcotic was then lodged and the suspects placed in custody at the East La Penitence Police Station pending charges.
