Some 967 have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the number of active cases in Guyana to a staggering 3,481.
Today’s number is the highest ever recorded since virus confirmation back in March 2020. Over 700 were recorded yesterday and over 400 on Tuesday.
Again, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony is urging persons to adhere to the protocols and to isolate if symptoms are experienced.
Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) accounts for the majority of active cases with 2,289.
COVID-19 hotspots in the Region include Diamond, Providence, Eccles, Grove, Herstelling, Mocha, Mon Repos, Golden Grove, Triumph and Enterprise.
