Police ranks from the Cove and John Police Station, acting on information, conducted an intelligence led operation earlier today in Foulis, East Coast Demerara which led to the recovery of yet another illegal firearm.
The operation was conducted at a house in 10th Street Foulis where, on arrival, the police ranks contacted a 28-year-old construction worker, who at the time was leaving his yard with a bag.
A search was conducted on the said gift bag and a make-shift firearm and one live twelve-gauge cartridge were found.
The suspect was told of the offenses committed, cautioned and arrested.
The suspect along with the firearm and ammunition was then escorted to the Cove and John Police Station, where the suspect was detained and the firearm was marked and lodged.
