The Guyana Police Force (GPF) recovered 71 illegal firearms last year, the force’s Communications Unit revealed earlier today. Of the weapons recovered, 36 were pistols, 18 were revolvers, and 17 shotguns. According to the Unit, 61 were seized and 10 were found.

Region 4 ‘A’ – 14 (8 pistols and 6 revolvers)
Region 4 ‘B’ – 4 (3 pistols and 1 revolver)
Region 4 ‘C’ – 10 (six pistols and 4 revolvers)
Region 5 – 1 (1 shotgun)
Region Six – 15 (5 pistols, 1 revolver and 9 shotguns)
Region Seven – 5 (4 pistols and one shotgun)
Region Eight – 3 (2 pistols and one revolver)
Region Nine – 0
Region Ten – 7 (1 pistol, 1 revolver and five shotguns)
