Leon Lewis, a 30-year-old salesman of Lot 235 Lamaha Springs, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, and Ravin Singh, a 24-year-old mechanic of Lot 2 Public Road, Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD) were on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 remanded to prison on the offence of Receiving Stolen Property of one Toyota Fielder Wagon committed on Tyrone Pires a 44-year-old taxi driver of Beterverwagting, ECD.
Lewis and Singh were arrested on Monday, January 17, 2022 by police ranks from Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU) and charged under Section 263 (1) of the Criminal Law (Offence) Act Chapter 08:01.
The duo appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court 1 before Magistrate A. George where the aforementioned charges were read to them.
They entered a not guilty plea, bail was refused and they were remanded to prison until Monday February 21, 2022 for report.
