Ovid Williams, 33, a miner of Moruca Village, North West District (N.W.D) was charged yesterday with the murder of Brian Melville, 42, also a miner, of lot 105 Second St Craig Village, East Bank Demerara (EBD), which occurred on January 30, 2021 at Balamani Backdam, Cuyuni River.
Williams appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Crystal Lambert, where the charge of murder contrary to common law was read to him. He was not required to plea and was remanded to prison.
The matter will be recalled on February 28, 2022.
