The Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed that as of January 7, 2022, three more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,185.
The latest fatalities are three Region Three men, ages 79, 52, and 44. Their vaccination status was listed as “unknown”.
Guyana has also recorded an additional 118 cases of the virus, taking the number of confirmed infections since March 2020 to 61,734 from 518,964 tests.
Sixteen patients are in the ICU, 102 in institutional isolation, 4,055 in home isolation, and 18 in institutional quarantine.
So far, 56,376 have recovered.
