A 22-year-old woman of Seaforth Street, Campbellville, Georgetown was struck down by a black motorcar on Tuesday.
She was reportedly hit while she was walking on a pedestrian crossing on Sheriff Street.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian fell onto the road and received injuries about her body.
She was picked up in a conscious state by a public-spirited citizen and transported to the Woodlands Hospital where she was seen and examined by a doctor. The woman was treated for lacerations about her body. She was later admitted as a patient.
The driver reportedly fled the scene of the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
