The body of a 73-year-old woman was fished out of a trench yesterday afternoon at Albion, Corentyne Berbice—one day after she went missing.
The deceased has been identified as Samdai Samnarine called “Aunty Pato” of Lot 695 Number One Road, Albion. Her lifeless body was found by passersby around 16:30 hrs on Wednesday in a trench at the Albion Estate.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that the woman left her home Tuesday afternoon to visit the health center that is located not far from where she is living. She however never made it to the medical facility.
When she did not return home, her relatives went out to look for her. A report was subsequently made after she was not located.
A Post Mortem is expected to be performed on her remains tomorrow.
