Another elderly woman was found murdered in her home on Friday morning, this time in Georgetown. Investigators are now searching for a close relative they believe to be the prime suspect.
Guyana Standard understands that the woman, Stacia Campbell was found dead at her Princes Street, Georgetown home. She was reportedly beaten to death and robbed.
Neighbours told detectives that they heard the shattering of glass and screams coming from the house. The police were called in after the woman was unresponsive to the calls from neighbours.
Her body, according to Detectives, bore several marks of violence. A bloody hammer was also found in proximity to where her body was discovered. Detectives are looking for the woman’s nephew who has since disappeared.
This is the third woman to be murdered in the space of a week. More details will follow in a subsequent article.
