Detectives have allegedly discovered a large knife that was used to stab the assailant involved in the murder of Educator, “Sir Mars,” as he was popularly called.
After midnight, the body of Sir Mars still clamped between the car and the gate of a residential apartment. A bloody trail was left a few meters away from the crime scene too.
Mars was killed earlier last night after he was run over and slammed into the gate of an apartment building in Perseverance, East Bank Demerara. Sir Mars was reportedly killed on the spot.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the vehicle involved in the incident belonged to Mars. Family members and friends on the scene were too inconsolable to speak to the media, as his body remained under the vehicle until the arrival of detectives and undertakers.
Guyana Standard was informed by a usually reliable source that Sir Mars, and the male assailant were heard arguing loudly. That argument woke neighbours, some of whom witnessed the incident.
The source said that based on eyewitnesses’ accounts, the assailant jumped into the driver’s seat of the vehicle and reversed it thereby striking down Mars who was reportedly standing behind the car.
Sir Mars was an Actor, Educator and Reservist of the Guyana Defense Force. He is well known for his raunchy skits during the annual staging of Uncensored.
