Police are investigating the murder of Leon Aswell Comb, a 29-year-old labourer of Lot 21 ‘A’ Kilcoy Chesney Corentyne, Berbice. The incident occurred about 01:30hrs on Wednesday.
Police investigations reveal that Comb was in his camp at the address mentioned above when the incident occurred. Relatives of the now-deceased man (who also lives in the same yard) claimed they heard a noise near Comb’s camp. They then claimed to have seen two men scaling a fence and escaping in a western direction.
They subsequently found Comb lying face down on the ground in his camp, with lacerations across the throat and face.
He was then escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Two persons have been detained and are assisting with the investigation.
