Saipem Guyana Inc., a prominent force in offshore projects within the Stabroek Block, has released an Expression of Interest (EOI) soliciting occupational health and infirmary services. This would include health monitoring based on worksite risks, and infirmary services requiring on-site medical personnel, emergency response capabilities, and ambulance services.
Vendors must also showcase compliance with local health and safety laws, evidence of relevant licences, and access to certified medical facilities.
Globally, Saipem operates in over 60 countries, boasting a workforce of approximately 32,000 individuals from 130 different nationalities. Committed to technological innovation and environmental sustainability, Saipem has been entrusted with portions of key field development projects in Guyana, including Liza One and Liza Two, Payara, and Yellowtail.
In Guyana, the company said it aligns its competencies with the local context, emphasizing its dedication to fostering the development of the Guyanese people. This commitment extends to maximizing the use of local resources and creating additional capacity within the region. Saipem’s focus on energy transition also aligns with the country’s strategic goals, making collaborations underpinned by the Guyanese Local Content Law integral.
The Guyanese Local Content Law requires companies operating in the region to contribute significantly to the local economy. For contractors like Saipem, compliance involves fulfilling basic requirements such as registration in the Local Content Register and with the Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD). The law ensures that projects benefit the local workforce, businesses, and communities.
Interested firms are invited to submit EOI packages, adhering to specific requirements such as registration in the Local Content Register, provision of company profiles, and meeting occupational health and infirmary service criteria.
The submission deadline for EOIs is December 8, 2023. Saipem has noted that it retains the discretion to enter into contracts based on this process. Prospective suppliers should contact [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected] “”) for submissions.
