Following its 134th Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has announced its newly elected Executive Management Committee (EMC) for the year 2024/2025.
Leading the committee as President for a second term is Kester Hutson from Dapper Technology Inc. Assisting him are Kathy Smith from Dover Water Proofing Techonolgies Inc. as Senior Vice President, Gavin Ramsoondar from Zarc Properties Inc. as Junior Vice President, Melisa McRae-George from Guyana Payroll Solutions as Secretary, and Brian Edwards from Green Agro Services & Supplies Inc. as Treasurer. Additionally, former Senior Vice President, Richard Rambarran from NCB Capital Markets Guyana Inc., and Timothy Tucker from Rid-O-Pes, were appointed as Ex-Officio members of the committee.
Under Hutson’s leadership, the Chamber’s total revenue increased by 3 percent to $93,347,081. Hutson had noted this growth was driven by strong growth in membership subscriptions and magazine advertisements. The GCCI’s surplus also surged by 85.6 percent $7,957,475, showcasing strong financial management under his leadership.
The newly elected Executive Management Committee convened for its first Statutory Council meeting today. During this meeting, they discussed key initiatives and strategies to enhance the Chamber’s role in fostering economic growth and development in Guyana.
The AGM also saw the election of twenty-one Council members who will represent various sectors of the business community. Among the elected Councilors are Timothy Tucker, Richard Rambarran, Komal Ramnauth, Rosh Khan, Keon Howard, Geraldo Alphonso, Evie Kanhai-Gurchuran, Kristia Ramlagan, Rayad Boyce, Delmar Walcott, Mary Nagasar, Carlos Mendonca, Brian Edwards, Devon Seeram, Navin Prashad, Paul Archer, and Priyanka Sookraj.
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry congratulated the newly elected Councilors and Executives and expressed confidence in their ability to lead the Chamber effectively. They look forward to their stewardship in advancing the interests of Guyana’s business community.
