Guyana’s contingent of athletes and officials arrived in Lima, Peru, Saturday evening ahead of the World Athletics Under- 20 Championships which gets off to a flying start tomorrow.
The team of 10 standout teen athletes and three officials, departed on a quest to secure medals at the event.
A total 114 National Associations and 897 athletes are scheduled to compete during the four-day fixture.
Guyana’s team will be spearheaded by CARIFTA Games gold medalists, Tianna Springer (400m), Athaleyha Hinckson (100m) , Malachi Austin (400m), along with Narissa McPherson, Nalicia Glen, Ezekiel Newton, Jackson Clarke, Enoch Munroe, Kaidon Persaud and De Neilson Gill.
The officials on the sojourn are Team Manager, and President (ag) of the Athletics association, Amanda Hermonstine; Coach, Julian Edmonds and Physiotherapist, Aretha Legall.
