The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has launched a competitive bidding process, inviting eligible companies to submit tenders for marketing services related to the country’s share of oil from the Stabroek block.
The government in a notice said it is seeking bids for the marketing of oil from the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Payara Prosperity Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. The invitation for bids (IFB), issued under reference MNR/2024/ICB/MS-01, offers multiple contract options, including individual contracts for oil from each FPSO or a combined contract covering two or all three of the vessels.
The successful bidders will be responsible for marketing Guyana’s share of oil from these key projects in the Stabroek Block, one of the most prolific offshore oil discoveries in recent years.
Companies interested in participating can obtain further information by contacting the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary at [email protected] or by visiting the Ministry’s office in Georgetown.
Bids must be submitted by 9:00 AM on October 1, 2024, and late bids will not be considered. The bid opening will occur on the same day at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board’s (NPTAB) office in Georgetown, with representatives of bidding companies allowed to attend either in person or virtually by requesting a video link from [email protected].
Bids will be valid for 120 days after the submission deadline, ensuring a transparent and secure process for all participants.
This tender marks a crucial opportunity for international and local companies to play a key role in marketing Guyana’s rapidly expanding oil output. The country, which began producing oil in 2019, has quickly become a significant player in the global energy market, with several large discoveries that are expected to propel its oil production into the millions of barrels per day by the end of the decade.
