Dear Editor,

I pen this letter to vent my frustration with One Communications, formerly GTT. I’ve been using the services of that entity for the past 17 years through thick and thin, with more faith than Jobe in the Bible.

Since the rebranding of that company, my personal experience has been shattered with horrible mobile data and fibre residential WiFi service. I would normally opt to put my mobile phone on their monthly plan, which was $8500 before the rebranding. Despite the trials of on and off mobile data service, which lasts for days at a time, I still tried to make do with it. Now that the same monthly plan has been reduced to $7000, the service is more horrendous.

Editor, I’m forced to subscribe to on and off mobile data with most of the time, the internet moving more slower than a turtle. Sometimes, I would get complains from my family, friends, and staff that they were trying to call me, and my phone is off; mind you, my phone is never off.

With respect to my fibre residential service, I used to pay $11,000 a month. Shortly before the rebranding, I opted to pay $13,000 a month for an upgrade. Lo and behold, I’m getting slower Internet service for more money.

In Guyanese parlance, “I fed up” calling One Communications to report these pains with their service. I strongly believe that instead of a name change, that money for rebranding would have been better spent on improving their service.

Along with the poor service, this rebranded company is sending my blood pressure through the roof.

Disgruntled Customer,
Quincy Anderson
