Dear Editor,
I pen this letter after I regain consciousness from uncontrollable laughter; Here’s my story. I was at home strolling through Facebook and listening to some Bob Marley music.
It so happened that i stubble across an “In the ring special interview” with the opposition leader, Mr. Aubrey Norton, inquisitive me decided to watch the interview to hear what the Honourable comrade leader has to tell the Guyanese people.
I watched out the entire interview in total amusement. The interview was riddled with multiple misleading claims about social issues. However, the part that made me laugh till ah get blackout is when the honorable comrade leader said that he believes in direct money transfer and once he goes into government he would give every citizen above 18 years 150k a month.
Hearing such a catastrophic, unsustainable financial dotishness made me laugh till I cried and then got blackout.
I can’t believe the opposition leader would think about something like that, much less to say it out loud, an implementation like that would cause more harm than good and it clearly goes to show that the opposition doesn’t know anything about financial management and basic economics.
With a monthly transfer system like that a great inflation risk will suffice, people will lose the motivation to work and depend entirely on direct payment instead of developing financial independence.
Honorable comrade leader Mr. Norton, you big and you suppose to have sense please stop trying to bluff the guyanese people.
You’re truly,
Quincy Anderson
