ExxonMobil is set to begin installation of the ONE GUYANA floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel at the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, according to multiple notices from the Maritime Administration Department.
The specialised vessel started out on its journey from Singapore in February, a major component of ExxonMobil’s fourth oil development. It will tap resources from the Yellowtail and Redtail fields, which collectively hold more than 900 million barrels of oil.
ONE GUYANA is the fourth FPSO to be deployed in the prolific offshore block, following the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity vessels. It tops the four as the FPSO with 250,000 barrels per day (bpd) design production capacity, the highest in Guyanese waters. Liza Unity and Prosperity have been optimized to 250,000 bpd, but started out targeting 220,000 bpd.
Once online, the new ONE GUYANA unit is expected to ramp up until it pushes total production capacity offshore Guyana to over 900,000 bpd. The scale of output will cement the South American nation’s position as the largest hydrocarbon producer in the Caribbean and the world’s top per capita oil producer.
Two more projects are in development and will add 250,000 bpd each, during the period 2026-2028. Guyana continues to catapult upward as a major force in the global upstream oil industry.
ExxonMobil operates the Stabroek Block in partnership with Hess and CNOOC.
