A cinema, located at Number 64 Village Corentyne, was completely destroyed by a fire a few minutes ago.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that fire-fighters were unable to put out the blaze in time. Investigators are presently at the scene trying to locate the owner of the building to get a statement.
A source from the Guyana Fire Service said that by the time firemen got to the scene, the entire building was in flames so it is difficult to say where the fire started.
