A manhunt has been launched for a former soldier, who escaped from the Lusignan Prison on the East Coast Demerara (ECD) this morning.
The escapee has been identified as 24-year-old John Lambert of 158 North Haslington, ECD. Director of Prisons (ag) Kevin Pilgrim confirmed that the former Guyana Defence Force rank broke out of Holding Bay three around 03:39 hrs this morning.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that the escapee was serving a four-year sentence for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
