A Port Kaituma farmer who the court says offered a nine-year-old girl some porridge before digitally penetrating her in a fowl pen while the meal cooled was today charged and remanded to prison for allegedly committing another sexual act — this time penetrative sex — on the child later that very night.
Clarence Marques, 59, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The farmer was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that, during the month of March 2018, at Port Kaituma, North West, he engaged in sexual penetration with a child under the age of sixteen.
According to information, the child’s mother sent her to collect something from Marques on the day in question. However, Marques offered the child a cup of hot porridge.
It is alleged that while the porridge was cooling he took her into a fowl pen and placed his finger in her vagina.
The child then went home but, before she could have explained what had happened, her mother dealt her several lashes because she took too long to return home.
The child then ran away from home and went back to Marques’ house where she spent the night.
During the course of the evening, Marques allegedly placed the child on a bed and placed his penis in her vagina.
The following day she returned home and told her mother what had transpired.
The matter was then reported, an investigation was carried out, and Marques was arrested for the offence.
The court Prosecutor made serious objections to bail being granted to Marques on the grounds of the serious nature of the allegation and the fact that the child trusted the defendant.
The Magistrate, after listening to the prosecutor’s facts, remanded Marques to prison.
Its like you learn my mind! You appear to grasp so much about this,
such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I think that you just can do with a few percent to force the message house a bit, however other than that, this
is magnificent blog. A great read. I will definitely
be back.
