Almost three months after he was shot, School of the Nations’ Director, Dr. Brian O’Toole, is speaking out about his shooter for the first time. Last night, the Director who was shot twice to his arm on January 27, last identified his shooter as a 17-year-old. He claimed that the teenager was flown out of the country the day after he was shot.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that the shooter is believed to be the son of a senior member of the judicial system.
“If you are the one that got your child out of the country the day after the shooting then you have created a monster,” the Director said.
He seemed convinced that the shooting is linked to the popular video game, “Fornite.” He premised his conclusion on the behaviour of the shooter when he fired three shots at him in his Bel Air Promenade, Georgetown yard.
“He (shooter) did a strange dance when he shot me and when I was shown a video by other students, it’s the same dance that is in the game Fornite,” the injured O’Toole said.
Dr. O’toole is calling on the Guyana Police Force to apprehend the suspect as soon as they can.
The Director is now part of the “SAY YES” campaign which was launched at the British High Commissioner, Greg Quinn’s residence in Bel Air, East Coast Demerara last night.
The campaign will be looking at ways to address social challenges in a creative way.
