While School of the Nations’ Director, Dr. Brian O’Toole has made claims that his shooter was flown out of the country the day after he was shot twice to the arm, the police are saying that they were never made aware of this information.
In fact, a source close to the investigation said that he learnt about this information from the media. “The suspect in the shooting was never identified to the police so when the victim said his shooter was flown out of the country that came as a surprise to all us,” a police source said.
Crime Chief, Lyndon Alves even confirmed that the suspect was never identified to the police. He has since called on Dr. O’Toole to provide investigators with whatever information he has relating to the shooting.
A week ago, the School of the Nations’ Director who was shot at his Bel Air, Georgetown home on January 27, last identified his shooter as a 17-year-old. The Guyana Standard has been informed that the shooter is believed to be the son of a senior member of the judicial system. Dr. O’Toole is of the opinion that the shooter is being protected by those with power.
He seemed convinced that the shooting is linked to the popular video game, “Fornite.” He premised his conclusion on the behaviour of the shooter when he fired three shots at him in his Bel Air Promenade, Georgetown yard.
“He (shooter) did a strange dance when he shot me and when I was shown a video by other students, it’s the same dance that is in the game Fornite,” the injured O’Toole said.
Dr. O’toole is calling on the Guyana Police Force to apprehend the suspect as soon as they can.
