A 33-year-old father of two was killed this morning in an accident on the Number 11 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
The accident happened around 11:00 hrs. The deceased has been identified as Stanley Bronne.
According to information received, the father of two was struck down while crossing the public road by a Toyota Allion, PTT 8022.
The car was heading west along the road when it struck the victim and dragged him some 150 feet from the point of impact.
According to the police, the driver claimed that the deceased emerged from a park lorry and attempted to cross the road when the accident happened.
Bronne was killed on the spot. The driver remains in custody as the investigation is ongoing.
