A 31-year-old man lost his life last night while his friend was injured following an accident at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The accident happened just before midnight last night.
The deceased has been identified as Videsh Singh of Kitty, Georgetown. Injured is Rakesh Ramsaroop of Non-Pareil. Singh was driving motorcar PLL 4706 when the accident happened.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that Singh was heading up the East Coast when he reportedly lost control while negotiating a turn.
The vehicle toppled several times before it turned turtle in a drain. The deceased was said to be driving at a fast rate. The victims were pulled from the car and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where Singh later succumbed.
Ramsaroop is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
